more people i know

It’s been an absolute pleasure having James around.

The more we planned our wedding, the more rules arose. Tradition, culture, formality; so many rules but not much room for fun. We’ve decided to do things our own way.

• Our rehearsal dinner is now a party for everyone to meet each other instead of a stuffy exclusive event. With people traveling from across the country, it seems unfair to not have everyone enjoy each other.
• There will be no “bride’s march” song. Instead, we are having our neighbor’s daughter play songs on the harp.
• My bachelor party will contain no hookers. We will go skiing and drink on the slopes.

These are just a few of the things that we’ve decided to do. These aren’t for originality’s sake. We simply want to have fun.

Invites went out today.

After work this morning, I was able to accomplish some things.

They included:

• Scheduling our photographer, Mr. Nord, to meet us in late December
• Making the final touches on Carissa’s ring (It did not fit)
• Renting a room for our wedding night (the fiance is always right…)
• Taking Carissa on a date to Park City

In the next few days, I may be moving/traveling to California, Kansas, Baltimore, IZ/AFG, Australia, etc. I will be back here for the wedding though.

Now to find a tux and psyche my best man up. Mostly, I’m just showing up

J: I’d like to get some shots at the rehearsal dinner and reception for sure.

Me: We’d love that but, I’m not sure we’re having a reception. ::(in background) WE’RE HAVING A RECEPTION!!:: Carissa informs me that we are indeed having a reception.

This getting married thing is complicated. I shall delve no further.
